Red Apple cider dressing

Learn this recipe by heart since it will become your basic dressing you will make over and over again, so you always have it on hand.

Ingredients

Vinaigrette

2/3 cup (170 ml) sunflower or canola oil
4 tbsp. (60 ml) Red apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp. (15 ml) old-fashioned mustard
1 tsp. (5 ml) chopped fresh chives
Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Combine all dressing ingredients in a mason-style jar with lid. Set aside.
  2. When serving, pour the vinaigrette over a salad, such as the lettuce of your choice, radish and cucumber. 

 

This vinaigrette will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator, in an airtight glass jar.

 

The little extra!
Vary a bit by adding 1 tbsp. (15 ml) maple syrup for a smooth dressing, ideal on more bitter lettuce. For a smoother dressing, add 1 tbsp. (15 ml) cream or yogurt.
